Why We Built This Site
North Carolina gives the public broad access to many public records, but Columbus County records are not all kept by one office. Superior Court, District Court, estates, special proceedings, traffic citations, and divorce judgments route through the Clerk of Superior Court in Whiteville. Marriage licenses, vital records, assumed names, and deed records route through the Columbus County Register of Deeds. Jail custody information and law enforcement contacts route through the Columbus County Sheriff's Office. Bringing those routes together helps users avoid sending a request to the wrong office.

What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to the North Carolina Judicial Branch, Columbus County government, the Columbus County Clerk of Superior Court, the Columbus County Sheriff's Office, or the Register of Deeds. There are real limits to what a private reference site can do:
